Tax Withholding Information

- Foreign persons are subject to withholding tax at a 30% rate on income received from U.S. sources.
- Provision of a U.S. Federal Tax ID number does not automatically result in a waiver of this withholding if the members of the performing entity are not legal residents of the United States.
- To apply for a reduction or a waiver, the performing entity or foreign person can enter into a central withholding agreement with the Internal Revenue Service. This must be addressed immediately as the CWA filing process can take several months. Click here for more information.
