Thank you for your interest in submitting an immersive experience to Electric Forest 2027!

You are invited to share your art installation concepts as we bring forth the magic for 2027.

DATES: June 24-27, 2027

LOCATION: Rothbury, MI

PROMPT: You’ve entered a world made for wandering. Here, getting lost is not a mistake — it’s part of the journey. Paths twist, perspectives shift, and curiosity is rewarded with moments of wonder, surprise, play and discovery.

We are looking for experiences that invite guests to slow down, explore, interact and follow their instincts. The work should feel imaginative, unexpected, beautiful and transportive — We will be prioritizing rooms that don't need audio, are not lighitng or projection dependent (as it does not get dark until 10pm) are designed head to toe, have a strong sense of story, and allow guests to be fully engaged

Some examples of what we are looking for:
- Immersive art environments and installations
- Interactive or participatory experiences
- Playful pathways, portals, hidden discoveries and unexpected moments
- Art that rewards curiosity, exploration and wandering
- Whimsical, surreal, beautiful or thought-provoking concepts
- Experiences that can live within or become part of a larger immersive environment
THINGS TO NOTE: This is an uncovered, outdoor area. If your piece has live actors, please consider shade as part of the design. Please also account for inclement weather to add more time to your build.

SPACE CONSIDERATIONS: 20'x20' spaces to 60'x60' spaces.

Note: It does not have to fit within these spaces if, for example, your project is a long tunnel, or you have a concept that needs a larger space - let us know how you would utilize the space and why that size is improtant to the design, or narrative, of your submission.

BUDGET CONSIDERATIONS: $10k - $40k with larger budgets going towards those providing programming elements that have a lot of audience throughput and is heavily themed and designed.

Total Number of Staff
Please identify the total number of staff who will be working onsite including all leads, crew, technicians and performers.

Please QUANTIFY your staff list including the job titles and number of people in that role.
Primary Materials
Please provide a list of materials that are used in the art installation. NOTE: All fabric and materials must be fire treated and certified.
Project Footprint
Please list the dimensions of the art installation.
Hours of Activation
Please specify the total number of hours per day the art installation and/or performance will be activated during the festival. NOTE: The festival is open approximate 12hrs/day. If your art installation is not staffed during the event, then please notate if any of your staff will refresh each morning during the event.

Please account for approximately 15% more time than you anticipate it taking to build your project due to weather conditions and limited shared resources.

Commercial General Liability Insurance
What insurance policy limits do you currently carry? The basic requirement is $2MIL/$5MIL, lower insurance limits must be addressed during the advance. If you currently do not have insurance, you must obtain coverage PRIOR to the festival for ALL DAYS you and your staff will be onsite.
